Profile of the Resort
Fridays Boracay is a AAA accredited, self contained 40 native cottage-style rooms resort. We have a freshwater swimming pool, a beachfront bar, and a 120-seat capacity restaurant considered by many to be the finest in the island.
The rooms are in a garden setting arranged around a beach courtyard and the swimming pool. All rooms are distinctly native with Filipino styling – quaint yet with modern conveniences like split-type airconditioning, hot & cold potable water, DVDs, cable TV, IDD & NDD telephone, fully stocked mini bar, deluxe guestroom amenities, abaca slippers, evening turn-down services, native hammocks, individual Electronic Safety Deposit Box, and private verandah.
In 1982, the first two cottages of Fridays Boracay were built. The name “Fridays” comes from the story of Robinson Crusoe. Robinson was shipwrecked on a lost island and was surprised to meet a native young boy whom he named Friday after becoming his constant companion.

LOCATION
Island Location
Boracay Island is located at the northern tip of Panay Island, Aklan Province, in the Visayan region of the Philippines, approximately 300 kilometers south of Manila. View Island Location (depending on the internet speed this movie maye take 30 seconds to zoom in.)
Resort Location
Fridays Boracay rests at the northern end of the four kilometers’ powder white sand beach which made the island famous.
How to get there
The most convenient way to reach Boracay is to take the Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific and Seair flights to Caticlan (Seair takes off from Manila via the Domestic Terminal 1). Philippine Airlines and Cebu Pacific takes off from the Terminal 2 or Centennial Terminal. Seair also flies from Cebu to Boracay in less than an hour.
Another alternative is to take Philippine Airlines (takes off from the Terminal 2 or Centennial Terminal), Air Philippines, PAL Express or Cebu Pacific (these 3 airlines takes off from the NAIA Terminal 3) flights to Kalibo, or take Zest Air (takes off from the Domestic Terminal 1) and take an air-conditioned bus or private van to the private welcome center. The trip from Kalibo to Caticlan is about two hours.
Upon arrival, a Fridays' Transfer Officer will greet you at the airport and bring you to Fairways Private Welcome Center, a short trip of 200 meters. Our outrigger boat then takes you to the Cagban port in 4 minutes then by van to the resort. Ensure that you are wearing clothes and adequate footwear which will allow you to "walk in the water" from the beach to the boat or jetty port or vice-versa.
Depending on the weather condition, alternative routes will be used as specified by the Philippines Coast Guards like Tabon port to Fairways port at the back of the island where a Fridays van will wait for you and bring you to our resort.
For Kalibo transfers and airfare, please get in touch with our Reservation Officers.

On Arrival
Our staff welcomes you at the Cagban Port with cold towels to freshen up while on short trip heading to to the Resort. Upon arrival at the Resort, our staff again welcomes you with shell necklace and quench-thirsting local lemon juice while our Transfer Officer will carry your luggage.
Standard check in time is 2:00pm while check out time is 12:00 noon. Should your rooms not be available upon your early arrival, you may leave your luggage at the reception, change into your bathing suits and start enjoying the sea or a hearty meal in our restaurant.

Things to Remember
1. Should you intend to stay in Manila before or after your trip to Boracay, we will arrange your room booking with either of the following hotels: in Makati – The Peninsula Hotel, Hotel Celeste and Mandarin Hotel; and in Manila – Hotel Sofitel (formerly Westin Philippine Plaza).
2. For transfers from the Manila International Airport to Manila Domestic Airport or hotel of your choice, We recommend that you proceed to the car rental kiosk or you can arrange your transfer with your travel agent. In any case, we suggest you use only accredited transportation services.
3. Philippine transacts in pesos (PHP). However, US dollars are accepted as well. We recommend that you change your money to dollars and mostly to pesos. Cash dispensers, ATMs or bancomats are available in Manila and in Boracay. Should there be a problem with the ATM’s and bancomats, look for currency exchange kiosks or change your money at Fridays’ reception. Fridays accepts major credit cards and US dollars as payments.
4. Be in Manila Domestic Airport two hours before departure time. You will need to present your passport if you are not a Filipino citizen or any form of identification (driver’s license, company ID or SSS) for Filipinos.
5. Take note that flights from Manila to Caticlan (Boracay) allow 10 kilos maximum of baggage only. In excess, a corresponding amount per kilo will be charged.
6. Before your flight, please coordinate with the Domestic Airport of any new security measures that they are implementing.
7. Should you arrive on a “habagat” or monsoon season, our transfer officer will bring you to the public jetty port in Tabon via van, then to the back of the island at Fairways on a 20-minute boat ride, then a final 10 minute van ride to the resort.
8. The Local Government of Malay is charging all incoming tourists in Boracay an environmental fee of P50 per person. This fee is subject to change without prior notice. Likewise, other minor fees may be collected as imposed by the local government. We advise that you bring small bills in Philippine pesos for these fees.

"Paradise in the Philippines"
Trip Advisor, Scotin Singapore, 07 April 2008
My wife and I (and 8 year old child) have just got back after staying 8 nights at this wonderful, wonderful resort. The Friday's website does not do this resort justice, it is even more fabulous in real life. We splashed out and paid for a deluxe suite, I had reservations about paying so much for a hotel in the Phillipines but it was worth it... a very beautiful and extremely large room. But the rooms do not make the resort, it is the perfectly relaxing atmosphere that is given off by its design and by the staff members and off course...the most beautiful location on the most fabulous beach. It is paradise. We have no complaints whatsover, if you want to cry about the relative extra cost then go somewhere else but you will miss out on the Friday's experience.
"Fridays has the best beachfront"
Trip Advisor, Angel from NR, 05 April 2008
It was our first time in Boracay and we had a wonderful time at Fridays. Simply the best of everything -- beachfront, food & customer service. We had a deluxe villa and the size is roomy for a couple with a child. The entire facility is clean and well-kept. It's a little bit pricey as compared to others, but you won't regret it. You'll get your money's worth...But the next time we'll stay, we'll ask for a room on the 2nd floor. Why? We stayed on the first floor and we could hear the heavy footsteps or may be some kids running around from the 2nd floor...quite annoying but bearable. But other than that, I would say we still had a great time...

The Warm Smiles of Tropical Boracay
By A Yahoo! Contributor from Port Clinton Ohio 07/22/07
Overall: ![]()
Last Visit: April 2007 Great for: Families, Business, Pool, Internet Connection, Romance, Luxury
This place is an enchanting paradise that has managed to remain a South East Asia hide away from most international travel guides. Elegance is in the air at Friday's Resort. This may be the last patch of tropical peace on Boracay's famous powder sand beach, Far from the Ibiza drum and bass crowd the feeling here is luxurious and serene.
Guests are met by the staff, with warm smiles and open arms. Each new arrival is welcomed with a shell necklace and a fruit drink before being whisked away to the privacy of their villa, hidden by tropical vegetation, with powder sand almost to the door, the palm thatched rooms are charming and comfortable.
If sitting under a star-showered sky, dining on lobster with your toes in the sand and the waves lapping just yards away sounds like your idea of romance, then take a flight to Manila , then jet with Asian Spirit to Catliclan and a hop on the cool private boat trip to Fridays Resort.
"Then I found Fridays... and then I found Boracay"
From first time visitor Thomas Gordon, USA, posted on Tripadvisor website
After staying at a resort previously booked at station 3 for 11 days, I was ready to get on a plane and go home. The area down there is congested, carnivalesque, the path gets more narrow the further south you go and I thought if this is Boracay, I've seen a lot better.
The resort there necessitated two ally's to access and at night it would not be a trip I would not take alone. Call me a coward.
Some restaurants recommended by so called " Boracay experts' would be funny if one did not have to spend real money to laugh.
I decided first to try one more time to get an accommodation at Fridays and went up there in person. I was able to book 5 days at an upper premier room starting three days out...I was very impressed with what i saw just for the short visit. Upon arriving (they picked me up at the other resort), I was met by a lovely lady with beaded necklace and a cold drink of delicious lime based juice... The check in was smooth and there I found English speaking ladies with a smile that would say this is going to be a good experience.
The Room
When I entered the room, I just said WOW... maybe even out loud... It is huge... three sided circle with straight side with a very, very large bed with big comfy pillows and a wonderful soft white down comforter.. I wanted to buy one. The bed, verrrry comfortable.
There was also another bed on the other side of a half wall and with a pull out bed. I gave my sis-in-law the big bed and I took the other. When she lied down on the bed she said "ohhhh kuya ..this is soo comfy".
There is also a table and 2 chairs and a lounge chair and ottoman. Small frig, secure electronic safe and t.v. cooled by a state of the art upright wall unit that is whisper quiet.
There are no mosquitoes there. As a matter of fact, I did not get a single mosquito bite during my stay at Fridays. For some reason at that place they are few and far between. There is a large mosquito net which is ornamental and adds to the aura of the room. Nightly turn down service and chocolates. The bath one must see...jacuzzi, huge open shower of stone, tile and glass, terry robes....This is a verrrry large bathroom.
Restaurant
This is a professionally run place.. Restaurant Manager, Joel, is hands on and there at all times. The server staff is exceptional..really exceptional and overseen by the captain Lhoy. A server Elma came in on her day off and picked up my sis-in-law and took her to the hairdresser...just offered to do this as a kind gesture.
The food is excellent. All of it... I happen to be allergic to garlic and all my meals were prepared x any garlic. The steaks are thick and on display for you to choose as is the lobster and other offerings.
The grill chef Val is the real thing.. he knows what he is doing and does it right to YOUR perfection. No peek-a-boo slices to determine whether it is rare or med.
The chef has many specialties on the menu including shank of lamb with a delicious gravy that was out of this world.
Then they have a pastry chef.....well if you can refrain from partaking from the offerings displayed in a pastry case you are a strong willed person.
Friday nite is buffet nite..It is awesome...leg of lamb...oysters rockefeller and too many other things to mention but all declicious. A desert table perhaps 5 feet long or more. While there, I ate all meals at Fridays.
Music every nite by great singers... Close your eyes and you will imagine hearing eric Clapton, Bob Marley, simon and Garfunkel and many more..they are really good and compliments of Fridays. I think three nites a week they have the native dancers from Mindanao and also the traditional filipino dancers..what a show. They invite the guests to dance the tinikling with the dancers.. a few do and it is great to watch.
If you like you can dine out on the sand as the rest/bar is open on the sides and the view, especially at nite out to the sea is awesome.
The beach attendants can not do enough to make you comfortable and happy. For four days I was catered to at the beach chaise.. I kept saying I would take care of the attendant but each day forgot to bring any cash down. No matter he (Jeryl) continued with the same courtesy. On the 5th day I gave tip and he responded with this very warm thank you that made giving a pleasure. Jojo, another beach attendant, gave the same service. Each day my chaise was reserved with the days newspaper ready for me, towels on the chaise and when I came from the water more towels to dry off.
This is a very professionally run business. The General Manager when he sees you will offer a hearty good morning and hello. The entire reception staff is without exception extraordinary and helpful with a full face smile. Miss Arlene the resort manager is out and about as well as doing her office duties and is available... a delightful lady.
The beauty can be seen from the pics i am posting but really one must see it in person... I wish i could have stayed longer but they had a large wedding coming in and were totally booked beyond my 12 days. But as a famous saying of the Philippines which is known by most goes " I shall return " and I will. Until then I have these wonderful visions of my stay at Fridays Boracay and their professional staff that made this such a fabulous and pleasurable experience.
Thank you Fridays.. really thank you. To me Fridays IS Boracay and Boracay is Fridays.

QUIETLY POSH FRIDAYS BORACAY
15 April 2007
Our pleasurable holiday began as we arrived at the resort. They accommodated us for early check-in. We stayed in an 80sqm hilltop premiere suite (the topmost unit... 84 steps up! I didn’t gain weight over the long weekend). But, man, the suite is so F-I-N-E! It had:
+ its own spacious verandah with a fabulous view of the ocean (the 84-step ascent is worth it…..so great waking up to every
single mawnin’, I tell ya!)
+ a queen-sized bed for mommy and daddy
+ 2 single beds for my boys
+ a delightful bathroom as big as the bedroom (with jacuzzi, toilet bidet and the other usual toiletries you get from
good hotels)
+ mini-bar
+ in-room safe
+ cable tv
+ dvd player
+ good air conditioning
+ ndd/idd phone service
The resort also has a pool at the back and a game room (PS2, ping pong, billiards).
At the resort’s restaurant, hubby and I each lunched on grilled salmon on mushroom risotto (love salmon, utterly delighted!), mushroom soup, and yummy dessert (he ordered mango cheesecake that he and the kids enjoyed while I had the richest sans rival. Their 4-course set lunch cost P600++. My 14-year-old had chicken and pork adobo (like gradma used to make ’em) and his younger bro ordered a lunch plate serving of calamari. We were very Garfield-bundat-satisfied with our first meal on the island and knew more good eats were forthcoming.
Weekend dinner at Friday’s is usually served buffet style. Maundy Thursday (when “The Dragon” appeared amongst us, with his posse tow) had us feasting on all-seafood fare. For starters alone, it was bruschetta and Japanese dimsum heaven. That, matched with oyster Rockefeller, poached calamari, salmon, blue marlin, tuna, and crab overflowin’! It was all grilled food come Friday night (lamb, tuna and marlin kebabs, cuttlefish, prawns, oysters….wow!). All this came with the usual soup/starter/main dish/dessert stations. A lot of expats flocked to Friday’s that evening to dine and watch their short cultural show, where the performers regaled the crowd with different folk dances, along with an impressive fire dance. I was prevailed upon by one of the dancers (audience participation! argh!) to try the tinikling (I couldn’t say no ‘coz the dayuhans were oh-so-darn-eager to join. It would have been a shame if a Pinay went suplada on them) and was awarded a certificate (yep, just like those you laminate and mount on wood.) for being a good sport and not twisting my ankle. It was fun.
My family and I have tried most of the resorts in Station 1 (Waling-Waling, Pearl of the Pacific, Patio Pacific) and Nami Private Villas in Diniwid Beach. Friday’s was where we were happiest. It has the most ideal rooms for families, the best food (gastronomic delight!), beachfront, and service. Security there is great (I could leave my beach bag with everything in it—iPod, cellphone, money, digicam, shades, magazines—on one of the beachfront daybeds and go swimming. nothing missing when I get back). Their roving guards shoo off peddlers that approach guests even near the water.
So...
Would I stay/dine there again?
I can hardly wait for next summer.
